Pinochle: Two-handed cutthroat

I met two women at the airport playing what they called two-handed
cutthroat pinochle. I've played three-handed cutthroat pinochle before,
but never two. They dealt a dummy hand and the winner of the round got
the dummy hand, too. I couldn't stick around to learn their rules.

I've googled around trying to find rules for two-handed cutthroat, but
can't find any -- only the three-handed version. Anybody know of any
resources for rules for two-handed cutthroat?

Thanks for any info!

The first two places I go for card game rules are:

*The Penguin Encyclopedia of Card Games* by David Parlett (a frequent
contributor to this newsgroup). The book has rules for two-handed
Pinochle with a note at the end which would seem to cover what you saw:
"(One recent description allows a trick-winner to draw first then meld
from 13 cards, which seems somewhat over-generous.)"

*The Card Games Web Site* <http://www.pagat.com/> by John McLeod. It
links to two-handed rules for Pinochle from
<http://www.pagat.com/marriage/pin2hand.html>, but there might be
two-handed variations listed on other Pinochle pages on the site.
