Hello! I found this newsgroup while searching for newsgroups about card
games.
I and my little brother like to play a game we've dubbed "Shampoo".
Here are the rules as we use them.
Shampoo uses a standard 52-card deck, shuffled. Jokers are not used.
Both players are dealt five cards. The player who starts places one
card on the table, face down, and announces its value. The next player
must place a card with either the same or higher value. Suits don't
matter. Aces rank high. If an ace is placed, the pile is cleared off and
a new pile is started. More than one card with the same (announced)
value can be placed at the same time.
All cards are placed face down, with their values announced orally. A
player may lie in his announcement, using another value instead. The
next player can either accept the cards, or call them out by turning
them over. If the previous player was lying, he must pick up the entire
pile. If he was telling the truth, the player calling the cards out must
pick up the entire pile.
All players must keep at least 5 cards in their hands until the deck
runs out. The one to first run out of cards is the winner.
I'd like to find out information about this game. Does anyone else play
it? Does it have other names? Are there any "official" rules? Please
advise, thanks.
